Telehealth

Telehealth consultations are privately billed. A gap fee will apply, and a Medicare rebate is often available.

Some patients who have not been seen recently or do not meet Medicare criteria will not be eligible for a rebate.

In such cases, the full private fee is payable.

Scripts

Regular patients who have seen their usual doctor in the last 6 months, may request a repeat script for their usual medications. This may be done by your usual doctor at their discretion without you having to make an appointment. In order to get a repeat script from your doctor, script requests should be made online. Use the links below for scripts or referrals. Fees apply. Contact us only if there are technical issues.

. You will need to have been prescribed the script by your GP before and have seen your GP within the last six months.
 
Once the GP has done the script, we are able to email it or fax it directly to many local pharmacies. Alternatively, you can pick it up from the reception. If you need the script to be faxed somewhere out of the local area, please have the name of the pharmacy, fax number, and address of the pharmacy ready to let reception know.

Referrals

Patients are able to get a renewed referral for a specialist they have previously seen, without an appointment. To request an updated referral, please call reception 72 hours before the referral is needed and let reception know which specialist you are seeing. You must have been previously referred by your doctor and must have seen the specialist before. Furthermore, your condition must not have changed and that you have been seen by your doctor within the last 6 months. Please let the reception staff know if you are picking up the referral or if you would like us to fax or email it over to the specialist’s rooms.

Blood Tests and Radiology Results

Hunters Hill Medical Practice uses SMS updates for results. You’ll receive a message once reviewed by your doctor indicating

  • Normal results – no action needed, or
  • Appointment required for follow‑up.

Urgent results are followed up by phone. SMSs are sent once all results arrive. Contact the practice if no update is received.

Generally, doctors at HHMP at their discretion are happy and able to give pathology and radiology results over the phone if these are simple and uncomplicated. Doctors may want to see patients for confidential or more complex results. These often necessitate a follow up appointment for treatment or if more testing is required. If your doctor needs to see you for your results, a staff member will call and inform you to make an appointment. If you do not hear from your doctor or from a member of staff, please call reception and ask for your doctor to give you a call back with your results.
