Dr Charbel Badr is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), a GP registrar supervisor and medical educator with a Honorary Clinical Lecturer appointment at Macquarie University.

He holds a Masters in Public Health and Tropical Medicine (with Distinction and Academic Medal) from James Cook University as well as Honours degrees in Medicine/Surgery and Physiotherapy from The University of Sydney.

During both his Physiotherapy and Medical training, Dr Badr has worked across various specialties at a range of urban and rural locations in NSW and the ACT. He put some of his rural skills to good use when he established and ran a solo community general practice at Wisemans Ferry on the banks of the Hawkesbury River.

Dr Charbel Badr is an accredited GP supervisor and is involved in the training of medical students and general practice registrars. He visits trainees in their practices to provide feedback on consultations and assists with skills workshops organised by GP Synergy.

He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has served as board member of WentWest (a GP training and support organisation) as well as Community Connect (a community transport provider on the Lower North Shore). He is a current member of the Australian Medical Association (AMA) NSW branch Council on General Practice.

Charbel sees patients of all ages and especially enjoys looking after families. He loves the continuity of care available in general practice. He has traveled widely and in light of his Tropical Medicine studies is especially skilled at travel medicine consultations.

Charbel is on track to achieving his goal of travelling to 50 countries by the age of 50. He is interested in history, renaissance art and architecture. He is married with three children.

 

CLINICAL INTERESTS

Dr Badr enjoys the continuity of care in general practice and has a special interest in travel medicine and minor procedures (lacerations, infusions, skin excisions).
